Ice Ice Baby!

Another round of ice came through last night. I am getting tired of it. It was really eerie outside. The ice was pretty and shiny, the freezing rain was falling, there was thunder and lightning (really rare for freezing rain) and the wind was picking up so that when the trees moved you could hear all the ice cracking. It was a strange night. I was worried I was going to wake up to no branches on my trees!

I took a couple of photos from our office window last night. You can see that everything is coated with an inch of ice...nice and shiny!

Now we just have a blizzard outside! Winter go away...I am ready for spring!

Ice Sledding Big Bear Farms

My neighbor took some video of the boys (they were afterall in his driveway..ha! ha!)

Ice Sledding at Big Bear Farms Neighborhood

"ICING"

The boys and their friends spent the better part of the day "icing". That is their term for sliding down the icy driveways and streets in our neighborhood. They had fun....

Yep...that's pure ice on the streets.
Ben could zoom from the top of the neighbor's
driveway (apparently theirs is better than ours because it has a hill)
all the way to the curb across the street.

ICE DAY

Today the kids are out of school because we had a big ice storm overnight. We woke up this morning to a word coated in shiny, pretty ice. It really is pretty.

Here are some shots I took this morning of the winter wonders...

Yes, our Christmas lights are still on the house!

Pretty icicles hanging from the bbq grill

Of course that meant that we also had a sheet of 1/4" ice (maybe a bit more) on the trampoline, so me and the boys had to head out to get it all off!

Ben thinks this piece can be used for a window in his snow fort!
