GREECE

Chad and I just returned from a trip to Athens, Greece. We were there for 9 days and it was wonderful. Chad served his mission there 18 years ago and it was so fun to have him show me this place that he loves! It was fun visiting all the ruins (and there are a lot of them) and I loved the food! Here are some highlights...

Me at the Olympic Stadium

There are all these little stores that sell some really yummy things. Here is Chad buying a Bugotzia (I killed the spelling on that one)...they were these flaky pastry things filled with creme, powdered sugar and cinnamon...they were SO YUMMY! It was fun to hear Chad speak Greek with all of these people...I just stood back and nodded like I knew what they were saying! :)

We went to the Ancient Agora...a big area that was once thousands of years ago the center of Athens. They have restored part of it, but most of it is still just the ruins. Here I am checking out some of the statues.

Pretty flowers and ruins

This is the building that they restored. It was very pretty. This is where they people would gather for market...vendors would set up in this area to sell their goods.

Now Chad's checking out the statues

Sanibel

Sunday I returned from a "Girls Weekend" trip with some very dear friends. It was wonderful to catch up with each other (we get together every 2 years) and enjoy the long weekend. We went to Sanibel, Florida and had fun biking, kayaking, laying on the beach and collecting shells (the beaches were FULL of shells, I've never seen so many!)

No kids, no husband...jumping for joy!

Shells, shells everywhere

We found live sand dollars while out swimming in the ocean...it was so exciting!

Showing off our Sand Dollars (we let them go after our "photo shoot")
